I have been cultivating my tattoo practice since July 2021 thanks to several trusting friends and endless hours of online educational content. My practice is grounded in the principles of trauma-informed care, body reclamation, anti-capitalism, and anti-white supremacy. My goal is to encourage comfort and community while ensuring informed consent and satisfaction for my clients. I feel honored to be entrusted with the opportunity to permanently mark your body.

Beginning in 2024, I have begun my journey into machine tattooing, and some of my flash has been specifically designed with the aesthetics of machine work in mind. Please feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions on this!

How Long Will It Take?

Handpoked tattoos do generally take longer than machine tattoos. It’s hard to say exactly how much longer. Most 2-4 inch tattoos take me ∼1.5-2hrs. Larger, more complex, and/or tattoos with significant shading can take up to 6-8 hours. I generally only tattoo up to 4-5 hours at a time, so larger pieces will be broken up into multiple sessions.

How Permanent Is It?

Hand poked tattoos are as permanent as a machine tattoo. How well they age depends on a variety of factors including the skill level of your artist, how well your skin holds/tolerates ink, and how well you take care of your tattoo. ALL tattoos will fade and spread over time, and will likely require a touch-up at some point in the future.

How Much Will It Hurt?

Tattoos, whether they are machine or machine-free application, typically hurt depending on the clients' pain threshold, design size and placement. Hand-poke tattoos are more of a stabbing/poking sensation, which is different from the needle drag of the machine. A majority of my clients think that hand-poke is less painful, but it varies from person to person. In the case of discomfort, I have a numbing spray available at every session to help alleviate the pain to the best of my ability.

Generally, flash (pre-drawn designs) take priority over custom work, but I am always open to hearing custom ideas! If I feel a custom request is not aligned with my style/interests, I will do my best to recommend other artists that I think would be a better fit. Custom ideas I am most interested in include: florals/botanicals, surreal/abstract designs (especially freehand opportunities), some animated characters, animals, water/rain designs, dotwork realism, art nouveau designs, ornamental pieces, fun textures. If you don’t see your idea listed here, please don’t hesitate to reach out and propose something!

For custom bookings, please do your best to include as much information as possible in your form. I do my best to assess the client’s vision before drawing, and am happy to make small revisions before our appointment after the design has been created. Large reworks or redraws may result in a new drawing fee, depending on the extent of the changes. I generally send the finalized draft to you 1-2 days before your appointment so we can ensure you’re happy with the design.

Touch-ups are included and encouraged with every tattoo I do. I am still learning and always want you to be 100% happy with your completed piece. Please reach out to me directly (DM, text, email) to schedule your touch-up. These appointments will always have priority!

I ask for a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment. This deposit includes one reschedule if you provide me at least 48 hours notice. If you cancel/reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment time, you will be required to submit a new deposit to schedule another appointmena. If you no-call, no-show your appointment, I will withhold your deposit and likely refuse to tattoo you in the future.

For handpoked flash designs, the deposit will go toward the final cost of your tattoo. For custom designs, your deposit will serve as a drawing fee to cover the time I spend creating your design. Deposits can be paid via Venmo, Paypal, or Zelle and will be deducted from the final price of your tattoo. Please bring enough cash to cover the total costs of your tattoo to your appointment.

Flash (pre-drawn) designs will be priced per piece, which I will provide for you when booking your appointment. Most simple flash will be $125-175, while larger and more complex pieces will be $200-400+. Custom designs are charged on an hourly basis at $100-125/hr and I will do my best to estimate the time to complete your piece during booking. My minimum is $125, regardless of tattoo size.

I am still in the initial stages of learning machine tattooing, so I will be offering a discounted rate of $75/hour for all machine work while I become more comfortable with the craft. I will never take on a project if I don’t feel confident being able to guarantee a quality piece, but it may more likely require touching up in the future.

I am happy to offer a sliding scale, to increase the accessibility of my work. In choosing where to place yourself on the scale, please be mindful of your privileges and identities. Pay a rate that does not only acknowledge the money you currently have, but the wealth that you have access to by virtue of your race, class, gender, ability, education. I will never ask you to explain or justify your chosen rate; this is a system based on trust and mutual support. I am happy to work within a specific budget for black and brown clients only, please specify in your form if you’d like to discuss that!

I welcome trade requests and have a dedicated space on my booking form where you to can propose full/partial trades for tattoos. Please note that I am only able to accept a limited number of trade requests each month.

Tips in the form of money or gifts are always appreciated, but never expected.

FOR JANUARY 2024: I work out of a home studio in Somerville, MA that is a 15 min walk from the Davis Square Red Line T-stop and the Tufts Green Line T-stop. I am easily accessible by the 87, 88, and 89 buses. I do have street parking pass available if you are driving.

I am located on the 3rd story of my building do not have an elevator. If this poses accessibility issues, please let me know and I will do my best to work out an alternative appointment location.

I have a dog that will be crated for the duration of your appointment, but it is likely she may bark for a short period of time upon your arrival. Also, please be aware of the risk of allergens in my space.

STARTING FEBRUARY 1, 2024: I will be moving into the Bow Collective shared studio in Everett, MA. This is accessible by MBTA Orange Line to a bus connection.

I require all clients to be fully vaccinated (including all boosters). Masking is required during your appointment. I do not require a negative test before your appointment, but I am happy to take an antigen test if requested.

Due to the small nature of my studio space, I require all clients to let me know if they plan on bringing a guest and can only accommodate one additional person per appointment.
